At First Baptist we believe that "Outreach" is at the core of who we are in ministry. You may ask, "What do we mean by outreach?" It means reaching out beyond the walls of our church to develop relationships with others in our community and discovering ways to meet their needs physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We recognize that gone are the days of simply opening your church doors, preaching a good message and expecting the seats to be filled. We believe we must get out of our comfort zone and go into the community to show others the love of Jesus. After all, what are the first words of the great commission by Jesus found in Matthew 28:19..."Therefore Go!"
Simply put it means, "Actively Loving God, and Loving People!"
If we are truly going to make a difference we must choose to spend time with people outside of "Church Worship." After all it was Jesus who chose to live life together with his disciples and those he ministered to. We must "Live as He lived and Love as He Loved!"
Please understand, we are by no means perfect. We do not have it all figured out and never will. But we are trying to inspire the church to live as the hands and feet of Jesus in the community where we exist. If we are to be relevant, we must offer genuine, loving relationships, to people outside of the church.
As you browse our website, we hope you will discover some ways we are attempting to accompish this goal. More importantly, we hope you will discover that we love Jesus and we love you!
