PASTOR - Rev. Kevin K. Thomas

(RevKev) began serving as our Associate/Youth Pastor in November of 2000. In July of 2011 he entered a transition period which could lead him into the position of Senior Pastor. Kevin has a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry from Judson College and a Masters of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary. He and wife Michi have three children, Kaleb, Kensington and Kyle.

CHILDREN'S MINISTER - Elaine Jarvis

Elaine Jarvis is the Children’s Minister and the Director of Children’s Ministry at FBC. She is a retired art teacher with 38 years experience in the Akron Public School system. She has been involved with Christian education for over 45 years. Elaine earned an Art Education degree from Kent State University and a Master’s degree in Outdoor Education from the University of Akron.

Elaine provides leadership for activities such as Summer Safari Days, Bible Adventure Club, Junior Church, and the summer camping ministry at Koinonia Camp and Conference Center. Her favorite hobby is flower gardening so leading the Chickadee Garden Club, whose members are responsible for all the flowerbeds at FBC, is a rewarding experience for her.

Elaine and her husband Lee have been married for 50 years. They have lived on a small farm in the Hartville area for 39 years. They have two children, Jeffrey and Tammy, and five grandchildren, Tristan, Taryn, TJ, Benjamin, and Claire.

Her passion is teaching and reaching children for the Lord Jesus Christ through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
