First Baptist has a long and rich heritage of 160 + years in the community of Canton, Ohio. We moved to our current location at 4110 38th Street in 1990. Our current staff of ministers has almost 40 years of ministry between them at this location.  Our people are friendly and we consider each other "Family."

We are certainly aware that life is not a sprint but a marathon and we are all in this journey together. Life is messy and we can find ourselves in all kinds of messy situations. That is why it is so great to discover that we have a God who loves us just the way we are, faults and all. But He also loves us too much to leave us that way. He wants us to come to Him and begin the process of allowing Him to shape and mold us and clean us up a bit. None of us are perfect and we wouldn't begin to claim that we are. Jesus Christ is the only perfect person to ever live a sinless life. He lived and died with us in mind.

The Cross of Christ offers forgiveness to all who will believe that He is the way, the truth and the life. Through a personal relationship with Jesus we believe that a person will begin to discover the amazing life God has planned for each and everyone of us. A life not void of challenges and difficulties, but a life that can be lived with the strength and comfort of a loving Savior.
